Public high schools in Kanagawa Prefecture have a special testing procedure for non-Japanese native speakers.
Individuals who have been in Japan for six years or less may apply to take a test with furigana above the questions. Some high schools also have special quotas for foreign students.

Education consultations for foreigners are available at the Kanagawa Plaza for Global
Citizenship (also known as Earth Plaza). These services are available for foreign students and their parents, schools and supporters. Consultations are available in Tagalog, Portuguese, Chinese,Spanish and Vietnamese.
