Yokohama Milight 2023---Illuminating the Future

Yokohama Milight is the largest-scale illumination in Yokohama that can be enjoyed in the whole town.  The route stretching about 1.5km from the east exit of Yokohama Station to Grandmall Park in the Minatomirai district, together with its vicinity, is lit up with about 350,000 blue-themed electric bulbs.  As part of the efforts to achieve SDGs, the lighting system uses green electricity generated by natural energy.  Also, the ornaments were placed giving consideration to the growing condition of the trees.  Though it is colder at night, it is worthwhile going out to see the town looking more gorgeous and glittery than in daytime.  Yokohama Milight 2023 is being held until February 11, 2024.

ヨコハマミライト2023～みらいを照らす、光のまち～

　ヨコハマミライトは、街全体で楽しめる横浜最大級のイルミネーションです。横浜駅東口から、みなとみらい地区のグランモール公園までの約1.5ｋｍを中心に、約35万球のブルーを基調としたライトの光で包み込みます。今年もSDGｓへの取り組みとして、自然エネルギーで作られたグリーン電力を使用。樹木の育成環境にも配慮した、環境にやさしいイルミネーションになっています。寒い時期ですが、日中とはまた違うきらびやかな街の表情を見に、出かけてみませんか？2024年2月11日まで開催しています。

Green Papaya of Hadano Debuted as a “Kanagawa Brand” Product

Do you know that green papaya is grown in Hadano City, which is located in the center of Kanagawa Prefecture?  Using abundant ground water of Hadano basin, the papaya is cultivated without pesticide.  The green papaya made in Hadano has been registered as a “Kanagawa Brand” product.  Rich in nutrition and with crunchy texture, green papaya is good for salad and also boiled dishes.  The “Kanagawa Brand” green papaya will soon be our familiar food.

秦野産青パパイヤが「かながわブランド」に

　神奈川県中央部に位置する秦野市で、パパイヤが生産されているのを知っていますか？秦野盆地の豊富な地下水を使い、無農薬で栽培されています。この秦野産青パパイヤが、このたび「かながわブランド」に登録されました。青パパイヤはシャキシャキとした食感の栄養豊富な野菜で、サラダや煮物などにして楽しめます。「かながわブランド」として、今後身近な食品になるといいですね。
