Since fiscal year 2011, Governor Yuji Kuroiwa of Kanagawa Prefecture has been hosting “Dialogue Square” events at the prefectural office and various locations throughout the prefecture to engage in direct dialogue with the prefectural citizens. At these events, Governor himself acts as moderator and lively discussions are held on a variety of topics, including important policies of the day.
“Governor Kuroiwa's ‘Dialogue Square’ Live Kanagawa” are held at the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building, and broadcast live online. Opinions will also be accepted via X (Twitter), allowing those unable to attend in person to participate. The live stream can be viewed on the prefecture's website or YouTube.
The “Dialogue Square Regional Edition” is an event where Governor Kuroiwa visits various regions within the prefecture. The event features presentations by individuals involved in various community activities, followed by discussions among Governor, presenters, and participants.
This “Dialogue Square,” which has long been a valuable opportunity for Governor to directly exchange opinions with many citizens, will mark its 100th session on November 6, 2025 to be held in Yokohama. As a special guest for this commemorative session, we will welcome Mr. HARA Susumu, coach of the Aoyama Gakuin University Track and Field Team, to discuss the theme “Learning from the Hakone Ekiden! Secrets to Growth” and explore what kind of leadership is needed for the prefecture. Why not join Governor Kuroiwa in exchanging opinions based on this discussion?
In October, we will also host Dialogue Square events on interesting topics titled “Connecting the Future of the Region through Food and Agriculture” at the Ken-o venue, and at the Shonan venue titled “Creating the Future of the Region Together—Vitality and Bonds Born from Resident Participation,” featuring case presenters. How about taking this opportunity to engage in dialogue with Governor Kuroiwa about issues on prefectural administration and regional topics? For participation, please register through this link.
