There are various assistance programs available.  Utilize the ones applicable to you.
We offer programs to support citizens having anxieties about livelihood, suffering from a shortage of living fund, or unable to pay tax or insurance premiums due to business closure/non-payment of wages/pay cut.

\100,000 will be provided by the national government to all people on the Basic Resident Register to aid households promptly and appropriately.

Households receiving Child Allowances (those earning below income cap) will be provided \10,000 per child.

Temporary special benefit for single-parent households with low incomes

\50,000 will be provided to assist single-parent households with low incomes facing increased burden of childrearing and decreased income. (Additional \30,000 per second and younger child will be paid.)

Support fund and allowance for the leave forced to be taken under the COVID-19 outbreak

Financial support will be given to employees of small and medium-sized companies who had to take leave from work and have not received leave allowance.(80% of the wages paid before the leave(\11,000 per day at the maximum))

Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance benefits for absence from work

If approved as being infected with COVID-19 through work/commuting and developed symptoms, you can receive the workers’ accident compensation benefits(Compensation for 80% of average wage).

Amount equivalent to the rent will be provided (upper limit is fixed) to people who might possibly lose residence due to reduced income by business closure, absence from work, etc.

Emergency Student Support Handout

Students who live independently from home and have difficulties in continuing studies due to significant loss of income from part-time job, etc. influenced by the novel coronavirus will be able to receive the cash handout.

If your income from business, etc. was significantly reduced due to the influence of COVID-19, a one-year grace period for payment of the prefectural tax may be given without collateral or delinquent charge.
