Support for
non-Japanese companies entering the market
We are in partnerships with JETRO, local municipalities, and other related organizations to provide consultation services to non-Japanese companies for the establishment of their offices in Kanagawa Prefecture.
We also assist with corporate registration, visa applications, provide advice on company location, office selection, etc.

We provide real estate information and arrange site tours for non-Japanese companies considering Kanagawa as a potential location for expansion.
Office related
Support for setting up a start-up base
For non-Japanese startups, we provide office space (at IBSC Kanagawa) free of charge for 50 business days.
Rental office related
We rent offices at special rates for up to three years for non-Japanese companies to advance their business.
- Area: Approx. 17 to 22㎡
- Monthly rental: Approx. ¥40,000 to ¥60,000
Incentives
Foreign-affiliated company start-up support
The following subsidies are available to non-Japanese companies that establish an operating base in Kanagawa Prefecture. * Maximum: ¥200 million
- Expenses for obtaining residence status
- Expenses for establishment of office establishing a location and various paperwork submissions
- Expenses for recruitment
- Expenses for interpretation and translation related to (1) to (3)

Rent subsidies
If a non-Japanese company establishes an office or other facility in the prefecture, employment requirements will be relaxed, for example, three out of five permanent employees hired must be Japanese or permanent resident.
Subsidies are available for up to one-third of monthly rental for a period of six months, and maximum of ¥6 million.
*However, for those utilizing the special zone system, the rent will be half of the monthly rent, with a maximum of ¥9 million.

I would like to establish a base in Japan, but I don't know where to start.

I would like to move into a rental office. What do I have to do?
Before applying to move in, a preliminary consultation is required to confirm the requirements and explain the necessary documents. Please reach out to our Investment Promotion and International Business section.

Are there any requirements to move into a rental office?
Companies eligible to move in must meet all of the following requirements.
(1) The applicant must be a non-Japanese company (specifically, its local corporation or branch in Japan) newly established in the prefecture to conduct business in Japan. "Newly established" companies include those that have been incorporated in Japan for less than one year at the time of move-in application.
(2) Foreign capital ratio must be at least one-third.
(3) The applicant must have a plan to continue business in the prefecture after vacating the office.
The maximum period of tenancy is three years from the start date of occupancy.
