Yamato Yutorinomori Park
Yamato Yutorinomori Park has the largest playground space in Kanagawa Prefecture, as well as many different types of fun playground equipment such as adventure playgrounds and an inflatable trampoline.
Izuminomori
There are around 900 species of plants in the 42-hectare area of Izuminomori, making it an ideal place to observe seasonal wildlife. It is also popular as a strolling trail for families.
Fureai-no-Mori
Fureai-no-Mori is a park with bodies of water, trees, flowers and wildlife where visitors can fully experience the natural beauty of Yamato. It's an especially popular spot for families with children.
Yamato's Shochu made from sweet potatoes Nagomi
Nagomi is a sweet potato shochu made from beni azuma potatoes produced in Yamato City. The liquor is carefully brewed using traditional methods, and is allowed to age thoroughly.
Japanese sweets Midoriya Yokan Nagomi
This Yokan is yokan (a bean paste-based Japanese confection) flavored with Nagomi, a sweet potato shochu, giving it a slightly "adult" flavor. Unlike traditional yokan, Nagomi is infused with dried strawberries produced in Yamato, walnuts and chocolate, giving it an aromatic flavor.
Cultural Creative Base SiRiUS
A cultural complex that opened in 2016, Cultural Creative Base SiRiUS features a library, arts and culture hall, lifelong learning center, indoor children's plaza and more.
Yamato City Green-Up Center
Yamato City Green-Up Center has a green gallery and training rooms that are used for exhibitions and classes on flowers and greenery throughout the year.
Yamato City Nature Observation Center "Shirakashi-no-Ie"
The Yamato City Nature Observation Center "Shirakashi-no-Ie" allows visitors to observe local animals and the environment surrounding them, and learn about the relationship between nature and humans. This facility provides things of interest to the whole family.
Stone pillar of Yagurasawa Okan
The Yagurasawa Okan was an old road leading from Akasaka Gate in Edo (now Tokyo) to Yagurasawa in Minami-Ashigara, past Ashigara Pass to Numazu and Mishima in Suruga Province (now Shizuoka Prefecture). As a side road of the Tokaido Road, it was an important political and economic road that connected the East and West.
Josenji Temple
Josenji Temple is located in a serene area surrounded by nature, and seasonal flowers adorn the temple grounds year-round. In particular, the temple is famous for its mitsumata flowers in the spring and white equinox flowers in the fall.
Shimo-Tsuruma Furusato Kan (Old 'Minka' Ogura House)
The Shimo-Tsuruma Furusato Kan is a folk museum and reconstruction of the main house and storage house of the former Ogura family residence, a Yamato City Designated Important Cultural Property. The main house, built in 1856, is one of the few station-area merchant houses in the prefecture.
Yamato City Kyodo Minka-en (Old 'Minka' Folk House Museum)
Yamato City Kyodo Minka-en is a 3,900-square-meter facility in Izuminomori Park. Two traditional city residences were relocated to these grounds and restored, and together they are designated a Yamato City Important Cultural Property. The park is also the source of the Hikichi River.
