Odawara-imono Institute

The Odawara casting that continues from the Muromachi period is made by a manufacturing method that casts it with an alloy that added “tin” or “lead” to copper rather than iron. An example is wind chimes, when raising the difference from the case of using iron, it is better to cast with sandpaper, and the lingering continues for a long time. On the other hand, because the product of sand is very delicate, it is difficult to cast and process, so rarity as a price or craft is high. In this “Odawara-Imono Institute”, we have a lecture that you can experience casting craft at regular intervals.
