Nagaoka Hentaro Memorial Hall · Wakayama River Materials Museum

This memorial hall is dedicated to the scholar, Nagaoka Hantaro, who was the first in the world to invent the Saturn-type atomic model and became a representation of Japan’s physics, along with Bokusai Wakayama, a poet who loved sake and travelling that left this world at the young age of 43. Both of them spent some time in Kitashitaura. On display inside the hall is, Dr. Nagaoka’s favorite “Demon’s desk”, travel bag, handwritten notebook, report, and a book and handwritten letter from Mr. Bokusai.
