Hachimanyama no Youkan

The official name is the Old Yokohama Rubber Hiratsuka Manufacturing Memorial Hall. It is located in the park next to Hiratsuka Hachimangu Shrine and is familiar with the nickname “Western-style building of Hachiman-yama”. Originally it was said that in the Meiji period around 1907, the manufacturing of Nippon Powder was beginning production by the Japanese Navy, the Japanese Navy and the English Nobel Company and other plants were jointly established for this, and the present Western-style building was said to be used as an office and a residence of a British manager. It was registered as a tangible cultural heritage by the country in 2004. Events are held in the season of roses, as well as regular tours, and sometimes concerts by regional volunteers are held depending on the time.
