Kamakura
Tsurugaoka Hachimangū Shrine
This tourist attraction is representative of the ancient capital Kamakura. In 1063, when Genji prayed Oshu and returned to Kamakura, it was the beginning of the shrine of Shishimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Kyoto praying for protection to Yuigahigahama. After that, in 1180, the Prince Minamitsu was transferred to the present place, making it the center in the city of Kamakura. It is a famous shrine as a guardian deity of the samurai, but there are also benefits such as avoiding bad feelings, luck and worship prayers. Events and festivals are actively conducted throughout the year. In spring you can enjoy the cherry blossoms and peony, while in summer you can appreciate the magnificent lotus with Genpyei pond.
