Kōtoku-in temple (Kamakura Great Buddha)

A large Buddha with a height of 11.312 meters is settled in Kotokuin in the Jodo Shrine temple, looking down over Kamakura. The start of the construction of the large bronze made of cast bronze was made in the year 1252. At that time, the Great Buddha was settled in the “Great Buddha Statue”, but the temple was washed away by the Tsunami in 1498.

Access
Change to Enoshima Den-tetsu at JR Yokosuka Line 「Kamakura」staionand get off at 「Hase」station. By car: about 45 km. from「Asahina IC」on Yokohama-Yokosuka Road.
