Chigasaki Beach Hamaori Festival

The Chigasaki Beach Hamaori Festival, a festival of dawn that heralds the arrival of summer in Chigasaki, will be held at Chigasaki Nishihama Beach.
At dawn, many mikoshi (portable shrines) gather at Chigasaki Nishihama Beach from each shrine in Chigasaki City and Samukawa Town, and purification rituals are performed on the beach.
The Hamaori Festival is designated as an “Intangible Cultural Property of Kanagawa Prefecture,” and is one of the largest mikoshi festivals in the Kanto region. Why not visit this festival that represents the summer of Shonan?

・Date and time: July 21, 2025 (Monday/National Holiday)
*The first mikoshi will enter the festival at around 4:00 a.m., and the Hamaori Festival Joint Ceremony will then be held at around 7:00 a.m.
・Location: Chigasaki Nishihama Beach (west side of Chigasaki Fishing Port)
*Traffic restrictions will be in place on the day.
