Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa 2024 Coming Up
Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa has been held since 2015 with an aim to deepen mutual understanding between Vietnam and Kanagawa and promote continued growth and development in the future. This year, the festa will take place on Saturday, 7th and Sunday, 8th of September mainly in the area of Nihon-odori Avenue and Zou-no-hana Park.
There are about 34,000 Vietnamese residents in Kanagawa, which is the second largest
number by nationality. To make the flower bloom based on the exchanges nurtured between the two regions, various programs will be presented so that visitors can fully enjoy the food, art and culture of Vietnam.
This year, Vietnamese top artist ORANGE, who boasts great popularity with young people, will give a special live performance. She will sing Japanese cover songs in addition to Vietnamese songs. KAWASHIMA Ai, the promotional ambassador of Vietnam Festa, the special supporter “kolme”, and Vietnamese singer Thai Ngan will give a performance.

ual events of the festa, such as traditional performing art of water puppet show and demonstration of Vovinam, a martial art, and experience chess-like board game Co tuong. In the lecture program, learn culture and living of the country. If you join the riddle solving program and look for clues in the venue, you will find new aspects of the country.
One of the popular programs is the speech contest by Vietnamese students. They will give a
passionate speech on the theme of “Encounter in Kanagawa”. Meanwhile, there will be various booths and food trucks where you can get gourmet food and fancy goods from Vietnam. This year, we will hold events featuring banh mi, such as “KB-1 Grand Prix” to choose the best banh mi in Kanagawa, “Tasting and reviewing banh mi” and social media posting campaign.
