K.P.G. Supported Demonstration Project of Food Purchase Service “Hitokuchi (One Bite)”--Inviting Ideas for the Future in the Era of COVID-19---

In this era of COVID-19, it is important to promptly develop and apply products and services expected to provide solutions to social issues and create new values by making use of what we newly find valuable in a virus-affected society.  Against this backdrop, Kanagawa Prefectural Government (K.P.G.) launched “Future Ideas in the COVID-19 Era” project and invited entries to implement various ideas to address issues arising in the present-day society through cooperation with companies, etc.

hitokuchi logo “Hitokuchi (one bite)” proposed by Worklog, Inc. is one of the ideas sent for the project.  It is a platform for materializing a system to meet “give me one bite” request where customers can purchase online what they eat at a restaurant from the contracted producers, and enjoy the food at home.  A demonstration project of this food purchase service was conducted with assistance of K.P.G. in matching with producers in the prefecture.

First, a restaurant introduces food ingredients to a customer through its dishes.  The customer tastes the food and if wishes to have it again, he/she can purchase the ingredients by reading the two-dimensional code in the advertisement display in the restaurant.  The restaurant, which mediates the sale and purchase, can receive a part of the sales as introduction fee.

This demonstration project was carried out in December 2021 at Café de Pion/Pedone (Yokohama City), Vege-fru Dining Sakai (Odawara City), LABORATORIO (Odawara City), Tabisuru-Confiture (Yokohama City) and Ebisu Diner Olive (Tokyo).  More restaurants are planning to join the project in the future.

Newly opened Odawara Sannomaru Hall Conveys the Fascination of Traditional Culture

sannomaru hall 1 Odawara Civic Hall (nicknamed as Odawara Sannomaru Hall) was newly opened on September 5, 2021 in the 13-minutes’ walk distance from the Odawara Station. Located on the site with a great view of Odawara Castle, the area’s symbol, the new capital of culture and art carries on the 59 years of history of older Odawara Civic Hall, whose closure was missed by many citizens in July last year.

sannomaru hall 2 Odawara Sannomaru Hall is considered as the base of community building centering on Odawara Castle.  The Hall consists of two zones; the hall and practice zone and the common use zone anyone can come in.  Its large hall is raved by audience for the proximity to the stage and the great sound system.  Stage Creation Corridor is open to users of dressing room, practice room and small hall.  Various creative activities are conducted here together with citizens.

Nigiwai Square, where Odawara City Tourist Center is located, is an outdoor space connecting Odawara Castle and the theater hall, which people can often come to for relaxing.  You can have a view of this square from the café, tourist center and the stepwise terrace, and enjoy watching the fountain and events going on.  In this attractive environment, we will make the Hall a more pleasant place where citizens can feel more familiar with Odawara City, which is blessed with rich nature and long standing tradition.

Application is being accepted while we have seats available.  There are also other events going on related to this area.  A campaign is underway to offer a prize by lottery if you post a video on TikTok with a designated hashtag. The tour of Odawara Castle and its vicinity with a Castle Instagrammer is still inviting participants.  On the day of Kanagawa Re-classics performance, a market will be set up where you can buy specialties of western Kanagawa.  We look forward to seeing you at Odawara Sannomaru Hall on January 23.  For more information, please see our website.  (https://rekoten-odawara2021.jp/ )
