Message by Governor Kuroiwa(英語)

information on corona

The Golden Week national holidays will start from this weekend.  This is the third Golden Week in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Different from the past Golden Weeks of gaman (endurance) we had under the state of emergency declaration and the priority measures to prevent the spread of the disease, there are no particular restrictions about going out in the coming holidays.

Please enjoy trips and leisure activities you may be planning, fully taking the basic infection prevention measures of M-A-S-K (M for mask wearing, A for alcoholic disinfection of hands, S for screening using acrylic board and K for keeping social distance and ventilating).

If you are to return to your hometown and meet with the elderly and people with underlying illnesses, who may develop serious symptoms when infected, be sure to take full anti-virus measures in particular.

The number of new infection cases in Kanagawa remains high.  To prevent rapid infection surge after the Golden Week, please be cautious and thoroughly practice the following keeping in your mind that the virus is always around you.

  • To avoid crowded places and time zones
  • To ventilate frequently when in the car
  • To use restaurants certified as encouraging mask wearing, and keep wearing a mask during a conversation while dining.

Your cooperation in this regard would be highly appreciated.
