Thorough infection prevention by each one of us is necessary

Since the beginning of this year, community transmissions of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in Kanagawa, too, rapidly increasing the number of new cases.

To detect the Omicron variant infection of those tested positive for COVID-19, it usually takes three days.  However, Kanagawa Prefectural Government decided to deem the coronavirus-infected as Omicron-positive at the time when they are found to be negative for the Delta variant.

Based on this, today, the average number for the latest three days of daily new infections with Omicron, including deemed Omicron cases, exceeded 20, a reference for raising the medical resource shortage level.  With this situation, we decided to raise the level to II.  We also increased the hospital bed number for COVID-19 patients from phase I to III, and requested medical institutions to ensure a total of 1,700 beds.

This is indeed the coming of the sixth wave.

I have been asking you to thoroughly implement the basic infection prevention measures of M-A-S-K (M for mask wearing, A for alcoholic disinfection, S for screening using acrylic board and K for keeping social distance and ventilating plus humidifying).  Please be sure to further continue these anti-virus actions.
