 Six “Yamanami Goods” are Newly Recognized! 

Located in the central to northwest of Kanagawa Prefecture, Yamanami Five Lakes includes Lake Sagami, Lake Oku-sagami, Lake Tsukui, Lake Tanzawa and Lake Miyagase. These lakes provide vital sources of freshwater to the residents in Kanagawa, and the region is very rich in natural beauty.

Comprised of the members from Japan’s central government, Kanagawa Prefectural and four local municipal governments ⁽¹⁾ and related organizations, the review committee recognizes the products that utilize local resources and produce as “Yamanami goods.” Six such products are newly recognized, including three kinds of resealable canned tea, produced from leaves grown in Kanagawa; sweets containing locally harvested-green papaya; and a board game product utilizing wood byproducts collected during forest maintenance. We recommend that you visit the Yamanami Five-Lake region this spring!

「やまなみ」グッズとして新たに6製品が認定されました

「やまなみ五湖」とは、神奈川県中央部から北西部に位置する相模湖、奥相模湖、津久井湖、丹沢湖及び宮ヶ瀬湖の5つのダム湖の総称です。これらの湖は、大切な水がめとして県民の生活を支える一方で、素晴らしい自然の宝庫でもあります。

神奈川県と国、やまなみ五湖周辺の水源地域の市町村⁽¹⁾、及び地元関係団体で構成された協議会が、この地域の素材や自然の恵みを生かした特産品を「やまなみグッズ」として認定しています。このたび、神奈川県産茶葉を使ったリシール缶のお茶3種、地元で栽培される青パパイヤのお菓子、森林整備で間伐した広葉樹を使ったボードゲーム製品などの6製品を「やまなみグッズ」として認定しました。皆さんもこの機会に是非、やまなみ五湖を訪れてみませんか。
