KANAFAN Matsuri Festival is Coming Soon!
Kanagawa Prefectural Government (K.P.G.) supports international students to create an environment where they will like Kanagawa even more and be able to build a fulfilling, long-term career.
Kanagawa International Fan Club is a network of foreign nationals who feel familiar to Kanagawa including international students, and those who wish to support them. Through this program, K.P.G. aims to connect Kanagawa with the world making it a vibrant region.
Fan Club will hold the fourth KANAFAN Matsuri festival from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Shin-toshi Hall on the ninth floor of Sogo Yokohama. It is a large-scale exchange event, where businesses, educational institutions and volunteer groups in Kanagawa come together to support international students. Admission is free. Besides international students, anyone is welcome. (Some programs are intended for international students.)
You can enjoy various shows on the stage. The highlight of this year is “iai” show, a quick
sword-drawing performance using Japanese swords. Enjoy the beautiful moves and powerful slashing techniques. There are also pantomime and juggling shows that remind you of the Noge Street Performances. At the Japanese culture section, you can try yukata wearing, a popular annual program, and ikebana, or Japanese flower arrangement. If you wish to feel more festival atmosphere, come to the photo spot and take some pictures in the setting. In addition, there is a booth to showcase GREEN×EXPO 2027 where you can make the event’s mascot with origami.
In the job fair, recruitment representatives from 30 companies actively hiring international students will participate. In addition, a job-search support seminar will be conducted by a career service expert.
